When and where is the conference? ¶

The main conference takes place on 5–6 October 2026 at LAAX Galaaxy, Crap Sogn Gion (2,222 m), above Laax, Switzerland. The Workshop Day follows on 7 October in Laax Murschetg, and the Contributor Meeting runs 7–9 October, also in Laax Murschetg.

What language is the conference held in? ¶

All sessions, talks, and workshops are held in English.

Do I need a ticket? ¶

Yes. All participants need a ticket, including speakers and workshop presenters. See the tickets page to purchase.

What’s the difference between Early Bird and Standard tickets? ¶

None, other than price — Early Bird tickets are simply available in limited numbers before they sell out.

What’s included in my conference ticket? ¶

Your ticket covers the conference itself, the Social Dinner on Monday evening, and the gondola tickets needed to reach the venue. Accommodation is not included.

Do I need to register separately for workshops or other activities? ¶

Yes. The Workshop Day, QField Day, and the Sunday outdoor activities all require separate registration and have limited places. These can be added when purchasing your conference ticket, or afterwards, subject to availability.

Can I get a refund if I can’t attend? ¶

Tickets can be refunded if cancelled more than 30 days before the event, minus the provider’s 6% transaction fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the event are non-refundable.

How do I get to Laax? ¶

Most travellers fly into Zurich Airport, take the train to Chur, then a bus to Laax Murschetg (Laax Bergbahnen). Total travel time is roughly 2.5–3 hours. See the getting there section for train, bus, and car options.

How do I get up to the venue? ¶

The venue at Crap Sogn Gion is reached by gondola from Laax Murschetg. Your gondola time is printed on your conference badge, so register for the conference before heading to the base station.

Is Laax town the same as the venue? ¶

No. Laax town (Laax Posta) is a village in the valley, not the venue. The gondola departs from Laax Murschetg (Laax Bergbahnen), a free 5-minute bus ride away.

Where do I register and collect my badge? ¶

Registration happens in the valley, at House D in Laax Murschetg — not at the venue. Desks are open Sunday 4 October, 18:00–22:00 (alongside the warm-up) and Monday 5 October, 07:00–08:30, before the first gondola rides up.

Is accommodation included in my ticket? ¶

No. Participants must book and pay for their own accommodation. See the accommodation page for hotels with conference rates and other booking options.

Where should I stay? ¶

Laax Murschetg is recommended since the gondola departs from there, but Laax town and Flims are just a short free bus ride away and often more affordable. Rental apartments are also popular, especially for longer stays.

What’s the difference between the conference, the Workshop Day, and the Contributor Meeting? ¶

The main conference (talks, keynotes, short workshops) runs 5–6 October at the venue. The Workshop Day (half-day, hands-on workshops) is 7 October in Laax Murschetg and needs separate registration. The Contributor Meeting (hacking on QGIS itself) runs 7–9 October, also in Laax Murschetg, and is open to anyone who wants to contribute — see details and registration on GitHub.

Where can I find the full schedule? ¶

The full programme is on the schedule page, and also in the official conference app, which works offline and lets you mark favourite talks.

How will I get updates during the conference? ¶

Registered participants receive an invite to a Signal group, used for announcements and schedule changes. Check your spam folder if you don’t receive it. See the apps page for details.

Is there a Code of Conduct? ¶

Yes. The QGIS community Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff. Report any unacceptable behaviour to event staff or a member of the local committee.
